Overview

  • Cellulose-based, aqueous tear substitute to replace an aqueous component of trilaminar tear film (lacrimomimetic).

Uses of Hypromellose

  • Lubrication of dry eyes.
  • In cases of keratoconjunctivitis (KCS or dry eye) it will improve ocular surface lubrication, tear retention and patient comfort while lacrostimulation therapy (e.g. topical ciclosporin) is initiated.
  • It may also be used as a vehicle base for compounding ophthalmic drugs.
