Dose of Phenylpropanolamine in Dogs and Cats

Dogs:

  • Urethral sphincter incompetence: 0.8 mg phenylpropanolamine/kg (equivalent to 1 mg/kg phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride/kg) p.o. q8h or 1.2 mg/kg phenylpropanolamine/kg (equivalent to 1.5 mg/kg phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride/kg) p.o. q12h.

Cats:

  • Urethral sphincter incompetence: (extra-label) doses as for dogs.
