• Treatment of canine leishmaniosis
Dose of Meglumine Antimonate in Dogs and Cats
Dogs:
- Leishmaniosis: 75–100 mg/kg s.c. q24h or 40–75 mg/kg s.c. q12h until clinical remission is achieved.
- Treat for at least 28 days.

- Pain at the injection site has been reported.
Contraindications of Meglumine Antimonate in Dogs and Cats
- Do not use where severe liver dysfunction, renal dysfunction or heart disease exists.
Some Notes:
- Care with agents that can also cause QT interval prolongation.
- Animals may be clinically normal after treatment but the parasitological cure is extremely difficult to achieve.
- Concurrent treatment with allopurinol may be appropriate depending on the disease severity/clinical condition.
