Production of Freshwater Fish with Unconventional Ingredients in Egypt was undertaken as a result of the growing intensity of research in warm water fish nutrition across the country. Recognizing this momentum, the subcommittee on warm water fish nutrition decided that the latest findings warranted publication in book form. After reviewing the scope of previous works, the committee concluded that an expansion in both content and species coverage was necessary. As a result, this book provides a more comprehensive background in fish nutrition, and its title reflects the broader range of species now included.
